Bhaktabandhav Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja’s Hari-katha:

1. Baladeva Prabhu is Krishna Himself with a speciality in complexion and mood. He identifies himself as Krishna’s servant and has a fair complexion.
2. He is the original Spiritual Master.
3. Generally, his fraternal feelings are mixed with servitude and parental affection.
4. In Vraja: Rohini-nandana Baladeva; Dvaraka: Vasudeva-nandana Baladeva or Original Sankarsana, Rama-lila: Laksmana; Chaitanya-lila: Nityananda Prabhu.
5. He also expands himself as the dham and paraphernalia for Krishna’s service.
6. As Ananta Sesa he sings the glories of Krishna with his thousands of mouths.
7. He killed Dhenukasura, a demon who was in the form of an ass. Dhenukasura represents ignorance.
8. When he came to Vrindavan from Dvaraka, He did rasa-lila with Krishna’s gopis to pacify their separation. This is his service. For a moment the gopis’ separation was pacified, but then immediately their flames of separation went higher and higher. Seeing that Baladeva Prabhu began weeping and cried out for Krishna. Immediately, Krishna came and fulfilled the the gopis’ desires to serve Him.
9. Nayam atma balahinena labhya – Without the mercy of Baladeva Prabhu one cannot attain God. – Mundaka Upanisad
10. Heno nitai bine bhai, radha-krishna paite nai – Without the mercy of Nitai, one cannot attain Radha-Krishna. – Narottama Das Thakura
