A sadhu-guru-vaisnava is completely surrendered, and is day and night, 24hours engaged in loving service of Krsna. That means he is constantly with Krsna, He can show you Krsna and he can give you Krsna. You have to go to him. You have to surrender unto him, and you have to hear krsna-katha from him. Then there will be all-auspiciousness, otherwise not. Such sadhus, such Vaisnavas, premi-bhaktas have developed this vision. They are endowed with such vision. What vision do they have? Those who have smeared the ointment of love on their eyes, premanjana-cchurita-bhakti-vilocanena, who are endowed with bhakti-caksu, the vision of devotion, always see the all-beautiful Syamasundara Krsna, within and without.
You have to associate with such sadhu-guru-vaisnavas. They have bound up Syamasundara Krsna with the rope of love in their hearts. If you surrender unto such sadhu-guru, serve him, please him, and get his mercy then you will be endowed with that vision and you can see the beautiful form of Lord Syamasundara, within and without. This is the only means.
Therefore we should not even waste a moment. We should be very restless now thinking, “How can I serve such a sadhu? How can I get his mercy? How can I serve Krsna?” Yes, feel restless, restless, restless, day and night restless. How can I always stay in the association of such sadhus? Yes! Always stay in the association of such sadhus. If you can stay always in the association of such sadhus then you will develop the mentality of rendering loving service to Krsna. Then you will develop this mentality of bhakti. Then you will really become krsna-dasa. Otherwise you cannot become krsna-dasa. You are a great maya-dasa. It is not an easy thing to become krsna-dasa. It is not easy. That mentality will be developed in you.
Those surrendered souls, sadhu-gurus, they teach us how to surrender unto Krsna. It is not an easy thing that by yourself you will surrender. Can you? No. You should learn from them. You should be their student or disciple. Disciple means one who is under strict discipline. He is a disciple.
Putting full faith in the sadhu you need only submissively hear — sravanam, sravanam, sravanam. In that way you can get the mercy of that sadhu. That will help you. Only one thing is required, nothing else — sravanam, sravanam, sravanam. Just hear. Serve that sadhu, please him, hear submissively, surrender yourself at his lotus feet and submissively ask questions. Out of mercy the sadhu will impart tattva-jnana to you.
This is the only process. Unless you get association with a living sadhu, what can you do? Will you put some question to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Prabhupada will answer you? This process is a living thing, it is always there, it is always current. It is not that inquiry was done a certain way in the past and now things are done differently. No! It is an eternal process, pranipatena pariprasnena sevaya.
