By the causeless mercy of Śrī Śrīla Guru-pāda-padma and the mahā-bhāgavata Vaiṣṇavas we are in Vṛndāvana-dhāma at the lotus feet of Vṛndā-devī. We have come to Vṛndāvana-dhāma, but if we have no relation with God, and have no desire for Vṛndā-devī’s help, ordinary desires and mundane friendships will seize us. Then, we will arrange places and policy for our recreation here. Already being so fortunate to be here in Vṛndāvana-dhāma, take shelter of the gosvāmīs and follow their teachings under guidance of the rūpānuga Vaiṣṇavas. How can we enter and make relationship with Vraja, Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa and the Vrajavāsīs? For this purpose, our guru-varga have made a very sweet arrangement.

If we have no relation with līlā-śakti, if She doesn’t help us and come in our heart, then we will never get liberation from mundane activities, māyā līlā. We will not be able to cut this off. Therefore, the guru-varga, our gosvāmīs, gave us a way to make relation with kṛṣṇa-līlā, vraja-līlā. They took some help, power and potency from līlā-śakti, and then wrote about Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes in Vraja and reserved it in the form of granthas. Hearing these pastimes, one will become attached to līlā-śakti, and She will gradually give us entrance. On one side, intense renunciation will arise in the heart, vairāgya, and on the other side there is deep anurāga, intense attraction. Then one will never hear, follow or have any connection with māyā līlā. If one doesn’t establish connection with līlā-śakti and vraja-līlā, then he will make stronger relation with māyā. He will never understand what is kṛṣṇa-līlā, what is Kṛṣṇa’s śakti, Divine Potency. Everything one does will be speculation and imitation.

What did the guru-varga write? What did the gosvāmīs reserve for us? We should open this and look. Like if a grandfather or father saved some treasure for his child, if the boy has no knowledge of the worth of this treasure, then he will beg door to door for scraps of food, unable to maintain himself. He doesn’t know that his grandfather and father left him a wealth of property. Unfortunate sādhakas go to yogīs, karmīs, jñānīs, bhogis and bogus personalities, moving from one place to another to bad association. Why do they run? Guru-pāda-padma has called us from all corners of the world to establish our relationship with the family of God. Our guru-varga have brought and given us everything, a divine treasure unparalleled in this world. We have everything. You can open this treasure without a key. There is no problem. Open and look at the treasure. You will then see that so many valuable jewels have been reserved for you by your spiritual parents in this Gauḍīya heritage. If you take that, how will you ever be a poor orphan, begging street to street for love? How can you then suffer in this world? How will māyā chastise and punish you if you are connected to the higher potency, divya śakti. Why do we suffer in this world? This will never be possible if you are related to the gosvāmīs’ treasure. The guru-varga have collected these treasures from Kṛṣṇa’s līlā-śakti and reserved them for us.

Other sampradāyas and societies don’t have any help like this available. The ācāryas gave some hints and indications, but did not clearly arrange a program to make relationship with līlā-śakti. From very far away, they gave primary education and etiquette, how to offer obeisance and so forth. This is called vaidhī marga, and Vaiṣṇava etiquette. If you break proper etiquette, you will be chastised and shall suffer. But if you have direct relation with your eternal family by the mercy of līlā-śakti, those divine personalities will take care of you. They are our guardians and authorities, but we have left and forgotten them. Līlā-śakti manifests Govinda līlā, kṛṣṇa-līlā, caitanya-līlā, holī līlā, Guru-pāda-padma has reserved all this for us. Look at this, take this, and try to accept this, then you will be supremely fortunate. Otherwise māyā comes very easily for all.

mahat-kṛpā vinā kona karme bhakti naya
kṛṣṇa-bhakti dūre rahu, saṁsāre nahe kṣaya

Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta (Madhya-līlā 22.51)

“Without the mercy of elevated devotees, bhakti cannot be obtained by any method. To say nothing of kṛṣṇa-bhakti, one cannot even obtain freedom from material attachment and repeated birth and death.”

Without the mercy of the mahā-bhāgavata guru-varga, it is impossible to cut off relation with māyā. This is like a far off dream. Our guru-varga have reserved everything for us conditioned souls. Hearing kṛṣṇa-līlā, but remembering jaḍa līlā, māyā līlā, is a great obstacle in our spiritual life.

Parīkṣit Mahārāja heard kṛṣṇa-līlā from Śukadeva Gosvāmī, then he asked, “Why did Kṛṣṇa perform pastimes like this? He is God Himself. Why did He play, dance, kiss and embrace wives of other men?”

Hearing this, Śukadeva Gosvāmī became very angry, and said—

naitat samācarej jātu manasāpi hy anīśvaraḥ
vinaśyaty ācaran mauḍhyād yathārudro bdhi-jaṁ viṣam
Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 10.33.30

“Those who are not īśvara, the Supreme Lord, who are powerless and subjected to karma, should never imitate the Lord’s pastimes even within their minds. If anyone foolishly imitates Lord Śiva by drinking the poison generated from the ocean, he will certainly be destroyed.”

Śukadeva Gosvāmī said, “I have told you this, was this not right for me? I have brought sweet nectar, on one side this is your medicine, as well as your diet, food, protein and everything. But if you have doubt for Kṛṣṇa’s līlāmṛta, because of your lack of faith, it will act like poison for you.”

On one side, the gosvāmīs continuously distributed this nectar, and on the other side, how can I drink this nectar, protect myself, keep and reserve it? For this purpose, they gave very strong instructions. What is this? They told, “You must have strong vairāgya, very strong! To enter the spiritual world, transcending the mundane world, you must be very serious. Have no more relation with anyone. Don’t address anyone, don’t talk with anyone, don’t waste any time. Don’t give a lot of time to maintain your body in sleep, and eating or anything mundane. Give nothing freely to the body, according to the wants of the senses. Take everything in very small amounts.

How did the gosvāmīs practice themselves? They would eat very simply, only taking a few chickpeas or buttermilk for their sustenance. Sanātana Gosvāmī would walk daily on parikramā from Vṛndāvana to Mathurā, to Govardhana, and then back to Vṛndāvana. He only took a small amount of food with no attachment to his body.

bhaktiḥ pareśānubhavo viraktir
anyatra caiṣa trika eka-kālaḥ
prapadyamānasya yathāśnataḥ syus
tuṣṭiḥ puṣṭiḥ kṣud-apāyo ‘nu-ghāsam
Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (11.2.42)

“With each mouthful of food that a hungry person takes, three effects are simultaneously accomplished: he obtains satisfaction, he is nourished and his hunger ceases. Similarly, surrendered souls who are engaged in the performance of bhajana simultaneously experience three effects: the awakening of bhakti which ultimately develops into prema, direct manifestation of Bhagavān’s beloved form, and detachment from material objects.”

If you have desire for God’s service, the nectar of God’s love, and relation with God and His loving associates, you must be very strong and serious, renouncing everything of the mundane world. Feel no sweetness for māyā! Have no relation with māyā! Otherwise if you announce yourself everywhere, trying to collect followers, this is nonsense business and will not help anyone. One will send himself to hell, along with those he tries to collect. This is not helpful. On one side, have no desire for any popularity, perform your own bhajana and sādhana, and distribute God’s glories. If anyone is lucky, and wants this, they will take it with respect. Not by force. Not requesting anyone. Why do you arrange my class and program? There is no need.

vairāgya-yug-bhakti-rasaṁ prayatnair
apāyayan mām anabhīpsum andham
kṛpāmbudhir yaḥ paraduḥkha duḥkhī
sanātanaṁ taṁ prabhum āśrayāmi
Vilāpa-kusumāñjali (6)

Sanātana Gosvāmī was kind. But to who? If he saw a little desire, then he helped. Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī had desire for this pure bhakti. Therefore he gave praṇāma-mantra to Sanātana Gosvāmī. But if you give this by force, people will vomit it, pass it out, not accepting, hearing or keeping it. Why? They have no desire. First, how can faith come? How can desire for this come? Therefore it is necessary to have training. When they understand the value of this, automatically they will come. They will go everywhere to inquire the whereabouts of nectar, and they will pray to God.

Then they will begin to inquire—athāto brahma-jijñāsā—who is Brahma? How can I meet Him? Then they will progress sequentially. If there is no vairāgya, there can never be anurāga. If you have strong desire to enjoy, then you will lose everything. You can only be in one līlā at a time. You will either be in māyā līlā, or God’s līlā. If you have desire to drink and bathe in God’s līlāmṛta, then vairāgya is essential. Also, this vairāgya is not needed in a small amount, like a tincture, you must have strong and powerful vairāgya. You must not run for name, fame or anything.

Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī was present in Gaura-maṇḍala, following Gaura-Nityānanda. Sometimes his brother arranged festivals in his house and invited Vaiṣṇavas to come. Abhirama Ṭhākura, Locana dāsa Ṭhākura, Raghunandana Ṭhākura, Govinda Ghosa, and many other Vaiṣṇavas and ācāryas came.

One evening, as a nice program was going on, Abhirama Ṭhākura begin to sing the glories of Nityānanda Prabhu, and dance in ecstasy, then Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī’s elder brother said, “Caitanya Mahāprabhu is God, Caitanya Mahāprabhu is the Supreme Lord, you should explain the glories of Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Who is this Nityānanda? Don’t sing about him.”

How did Abhirama Ṭhākura respond?

Locana dāsa Ṭhākura sang—

ye deśe nitāi nāi se deśe na yāba
nitāi bimukha janāra mukha nā heriba
gaṅgā yāra pada-jala hara śire dhare
hena nitā-i nā bhajiyā dukha pāñā more
locana bale āmāra nitā-i yebā nāhi māne
anala jvāliyā diyā tāra mājha mukha khāne

“I will not go to any country where Lord Nitāi does not stay. I will not look at the face of a person averse to Lord Nitāi. A person may be so saintly that the water that has washed his feet becomes like the holy Gaṅgā that Lord Śiva places on his own head. But if he does not worship Lord Nitāi, that person only suffers and perishes at the end. Locana dāsa says: No one is like my Nitāi. This I know. Even if I burn in flames I pray that Lord Nitāi’s holy name shall remain always in my mouth.”

Abhirama Ṭhākura said, “If you don’t like Nityānanda Prabhu, and don’t respect him, then I don’t need to stay any longer in this place.”

If you make friendship with anyone who doesn’t like Guru-pāda-padma and Vaiṣṇavas, you will lose everything, any scent of bhakti. They are great dacoits and thieves.

Abhirama Ṭhākura has a whip and large flute, but he did not beat anyone, he broke and threw down his flute and ran away from that place. Then all Vaiṣṇavas deserted that place.

Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī thought, “My brother is against Nityānanda Prabhu, how can I have any more relation with him? No!”

Then he also left at once, wearing only one cloth. Without any food or money. He went walking, not knowing where he was going. After going a long distance, when the night was very deep, he laid down under a tree to rest. Then Nityānanda Prabhu appeared before him and said, “Oh! You left everything for my sake?” Nityānanda Prabhu placed both feet on his head and said, “Don’t worry, go to Vṛndāvana, there Rūpa-Sanātana, Jīva Gosvāmī and Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī are present. Go there and stay under their guidance. They are your guardians and authorities. Don’t worry. Just follow my order.”

Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī walked for two months by foot to Vṛndāvana. The gosvāmīs are very kind and soft—the hearts of God’s family members are never hard like rocks. This is impossible. If anyone comes to them, they will not hate or reject one. But if anything obstructs their bhakti and bhajana they will throw everything out. If bhaktas come, with desire for bhakti, they will always be ready to help.

Rūpa Gosvāmī, Sanātana Gosvāmī, Jīva Gosvāmī and the other gosvāmīs were very happy to meet with Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja and said, “Follow hari-kathā, hari-kīrtana and stay in Vraja-maṇḍala.”

He began to reside in Vraja-maṇḍala. In his old age, he went from Vṛndāvana to Govardhana, and from Govardhana, he began to reside in Rādhā-kuṇḍa to perform bhajana, nearby the place of Dāsa Gosvāmī. All Vaiṣṇavas requested him, “O Kavirāja Kṛṣṇadāsa, please compose an account of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu.”

Kavirāja Gosvāmī stayed on the bank of Rādhā-kuṇḍa, and Dāsa Gosvāmī himself taught him Caitanya-līlāmṛta. Hearing the pastimes of Gaurahari and Govinda, even stones melt. Vṛndāvana dāsa Ṭhākura explained Mahāprabhu’s pastimes from childhood to sannyāsa in detail, but after Mahāprabhu’s sannyāsa he could not go on much further. Those with vātsalya and sakhya sneha do not wish to hear about Gaurahari’s pastimes outside of Navadvīpa-dhāma as a sannyāsī.

All Vaiṣṇavas requested Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja, “How will devotees understand Mahāprabhu’s glories and activities? Please write everything down.”

He is kavirāja, anything he speaks has no bhrama, pramāda, vipralipsā and karaṇāpāṭava and it crosses one beyond anarthas. Anything that comes from his speech or writing is līlāmṛta dhara, a transcendental flow, running by the mercy of God and the Vaiṣṇavas. Therefore all prayed to him, “Please reserve everything for the conditioned souls in the future. This will be very helpful for sādhakas.”
“I am old and becoming blind. What can I do?” But being requested again and again by the Vaiṣṇavas, he came to Vṛndāvana, near Govinda, Gopinātha and Madana-mohan and prayed to Them. These three Ṭhākurjīs are the life of the Gauḍīyas.

Kavirāja Gosvāmī came and the pujārīs offered his prayer to Govinda, Gopinātha and Madana-mohana. They gave an indication of granting Their approval to Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja by sending the pūjārī with Their remnant flower garlands, prasāda, candana and Tulasī. Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja took this prasāda to his head, offering respects. He then came to Rādhā-kuṇḍa and began Caitanya-caritāmṛta. As he wrote this Caitanya-caritāmṛta, he said, “I don’t know anything, but by the mercy of Nityānanda Prabhu and the gosvāmīs, and by their order, may Mahāprabhu appear in my heart, and then what I write will be truth. Otherwise if I write anything wrong, it will simply be me cheating people as well as myself, and I will be against God. Please give me the flow of Your mercy and potency, and I will write down anything You inspire me to.”

After writing Caitanya-caritāmṛta, he wrote Govinda-līlāmṛta on the bank of Govardhana, at Rādhā-kuṇḍa. Now we are trying to touch this program. He saved this for us. If we accept this, then līlā-śakti will give us entrance and admission into Govinda Bhūmi, Vraja Bhūmi, and to serve Govinda, reside in Govinda’s dhāma and have relation with Govinda. Today, by the request of the Vaiṣṇavas, I will endeavor to touch upon this Govinda-līlāmṛta.

Purport on Chapter one, first and second verse:

All the Vrajavāsīs are in Govinda dhāma, Vraja-dhāma. In this place, all sādhana-siddhas come and meet with the nitya-siddhas. From the nitya-siddhas, śuddha-sattva comes.

śuddha-sattva-viśeṣātmā prema-suryāṁśa sāmyabhāk
rucibhiś cittamāsṛṇya kṛdāsau bhāva ucyate
(Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu, Pūrva vibhāga 3.1)
“That bhakti which is the embodiment of śuddha-sattva, which is compared to a ray of the sun of prema, and which melts the heart by various tastes is called bhāva.”

If one comes close to the nitya-siddhas, they give sweet taste to drink more and more nectar, to practice and realize this nectar. If you go to ordinary people, they say, “Hey! Go to university, get qualified and start a business. Make money. I will help you with a loan.” They have this knowledge and desire. You came to God’s temple in Vraja-dhāma, near the Vrajavāsīs, they will teach you the only truth in this world. What is this? How to make relation with Kṛṣṇa. Līlā-śakti will give you taste to serve and to learn and attend all programs. This is Vraja mandira, maha mandira, ānanda mandira. The Vrajavāsīs houses are not homes, they are temples, for there, twenty-four hours a day kīrtana and smaraṇa goes on of Kṛṣṇa’s holy names, forms, qualities and pastimes. They do not have structures built of brick and stone, their residences are temples with their foundations in transcendence. Their bodies are temples, and each limb of their body is a distinct area of the temple meant for a specific service.

How can we make our hearts and bodies into temples for God? Therefore Kavirāja Gosvāmī renounced everything and came on the order of Nityānanda Prabhu to Vraja near the gosvāmīs. The gosvāmīs at once gave him a good chance and facility and taught him everything. Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī had all the notes of svarūpa Dāmodara Gosvāmī about the activities of Mahāprabhu. He taught and gave this all to Kavirāja Gosvāmī. If you come close to the Vaiṣṇavas in the holy dhāma, the devotees are very merciful and will teach you everything. They will also protect you with a strong boundary so that you will never go out and lose anything. They will teach you the sixty-four limbs of bhakti and request you to follow seriously.

Vraja-dhāma is ānanda vidhana. If you come here to svarūpa-śakti, Śrīmatī Rādhārānī’s spiritual abode, here, Baladeva Prabhu, sandhinī śakti will give you shelter. Then that ānanda-cinmaya-rasa flow will come in your heart. If you come to this dhāma and sincerely practice bhajana, then God’s holy name, form, qualities and pastimes shall be revealed in your heart one by one.

Kavirāja Gosvāmī first offers praṇāma to Vṛndāvana-dhāma. Touch the dust of this dhāma and pray to the dhāma, then the dhāma and dhāmavāsīs will help you, and by their mercy, unstoppable desire will come for kṛṣṇa-bhajana.

The living entities are ignorant, and are diseased by bhāva-roga, the desire to enjoy mundane sense objects of this world. They eat and sleep, these two diseases are very important to them. And after this, enjoying all the senses of the body is their disease. This is habitual and natural for conditioned souls. They cannot forget this. If no food is available, the living entities become very disturbed, and if they are deprived of sleep, they become crazy, mad. If they have no help for their senses, no one sweet to talk to, then they are very disturbed. If their lover is angry with them, not talking sweetly, not stroking and embracing, then they are very disturbed. This is bhāva-roga, the disease of material existence. How can this be cooled and cured? Who is helpful? Prema sampatti sudha pana, if you drink this ānanda-cinmaya-rasa, prema sampatti sudha pana—you will achieve everything. What? You will become mad. You will need nothing else. You will only be mad for this nectar and you will not run for any drink from others. Caitanyacandra arranged this program. Kavirāja Gosvāmī prays, “I offer my obeisances to Caitanyacandra. This prema sampatti sudha pana was not available in this world before Caitanyacandra. The Vedas, Vedānta, Upaniṣads and other śāstras give hints from very far away. They teach, ‘follow this and that, morning to evening.’ There are many standards and stages. If you walk and walk and walk, step by step by step, how many lives will it take to reach perfection? You can walk and walk forever without getting any realization. If anyone has desire to go to America, hearing someone extolling, ‘America!’ and then he starts walking, and tries to walk across the sea, will it be possible? Many lives may pass, but a man can never walk across the ocean.

Caitanyacandra knows an adbhuta, very wonderful process. Kavirāja Gosvāmī first offers praṇāma to Vṛndāvana-dhāma, the Vrajavāsīs, and then to Caitanyacandra.

Purport on the third Verse:

Prāṇa-bandhu Kṛṣṇa is the beloved of all. What process should be followed to attain His prema sevā, service of His lotus feet? Kavirāja Gosvāmī offers praṇāma to Rādhā Kṛṣṇa’s eternal pastimes. Understanding Their pastimes is not possible for conditioned souls, for even Brahmā and Shiva failed to do so. If one has anurāga and intense greed to enter the service of Rādhā Kṛṣṇa in vraja-līlā, he will perform sādhana very seriously. Then entrance is possible. Continuously think about this program. How can you traverse this way? Follow the footsteps of our gosvāmīs and guru-varga, they have left behind a trail for us to follow. Don’t stray from the path. Sometimes one follows, and after a short distance becomes hopeless, thinking the goal is unattainable. Then he makes friendships with thieves on the path and becomes lost. Serious means serious, strong means strong. If you think you are not qualified, how will you become qualified? If you don’t go to school and college, if you don’t come near Guru and Vaiṣṇavas and śāstra, how will qualities come? Do you think they will automatically come and give you everything? Is this an alcoholic beverage you can simply drink and then automatically become intoxicated?

Independent jīvas have independent desires. Therefore instruction has been given, “Come near followers of this line and make relationship with them, stay with them, follow their footsteps, seriously.” If you follow seriously, gradually you will progress, and nothing you do will ever be lost. But if you follow for one or two days, and then stop everything for twenty years, what benefit will come? If you remember the gosvāmīs and sing the prayers of our guru-paramparā while always remembering them, then you will advance. If you only sing along, running like a racehorse—’kṛṣṇa haite catur-mukha, haya kṛṣṇa-sevonmukha, brahmā haite nāradera mati—Very fast, like a quickly flowing river, what will be the benefit? Offer obeisances to the guru-varga—this is the meaning of singing and remembering their names. Pray and request them for mercy. Then you will be online, related with them. Our process is sincere prayer. Only turning on a button and playing music on a tape recorder is not our goal or process. Such singing is not enough. This musical program is not enough. Everything must be done seriously.

“Anything you do,” Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura says, “However small or great, do it seriously.” So daily go to Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, Prabhupāda Sarasvatī Ṭhākura, Param Gurudeva, pray to them and offer obeisance. But seriously and carefully. Pray to them, beg to them. Don’t beg to any conditioned souls and do not wait for their love. Do not go and request them, “Please, please, forgive me, excuse me, don’t leave me. I am yours, I am yours, I am yours.” Don’t tell mundane people this twenty thousand times. Pray to the guru-varga, “I am yours.” You won’t have to say this a thousand times to them.

ek-bār dekhle cakṣe jal
‘gaura’ bo’le nitāi dena sakala sambal

“When Nitāi sees a tear welling in someone’s eye upon chanting the name of ‘Gaura’ He instantly gives His support to that person; indeed, He bestows all divine opulences.”

One’s devotion is judged according to the level of faith—śraddhavān jana haya bhakti-adhikārī. If the guru-varga see you have a little faith, they will give you everything. Then there will be no need of bhajana and sādhana. But if you don’t go to the guru-varga and pray to them, if you have no desire for bhajana, what is the use of so much imitation and show business? If you have desire for this, then go to bhāgavata mandira, Vraja-dhāma, go to the Vrajavāsīs, Caitanya Candra and the devotees following this line. Be greedy. Greed is the cost. Try to daily remember their holy names and pray for their mercy and blessings.

The third line of this verse mentions mānasī-sevā. For sādhakas at an initial stage, mānasī-sevā is not performed of God. The practitioner should first perform mānasī-sevā of Guru, Vaiṣṇavas and the holy dhāma. In your mind, daily sweep the pathways of the dhāma, and serve the Vaiṣṇavas by arranging nice programs and feasts and offering praṇāma to them all. Why should this be done? “You are very far away, and I am very far away.” By daily offering obeisances to Guru and Vaiṣṇavas, I will soon be nearby them. This is guaranteed. Follow this and then you will understand. If you have any pictures of Vaiṣṇavas, if you have once had their darśana, or darśana of the holy dhāma, if you remember those Vaiṣṇavas and the holy dhāma, and offer them praṇāma with respect, very soon you will go there and meet with them. Their power will pull you. Therefore this verse tells— prathiyatumadhunā mānasīmasya sevāṅ. First perform mānasī-sevā of the holy dhāma and rivers. All sādhakas are therefore instructed to first recite the mantra—

gaṅge ca yamune caiva
godāvari sarasvati
narmade sindho kāveri
jale ‘smin sannidhiṁ kuru

“O Gaṅgā, O Yamunā, O Godāvarī, O Sarasvatī, O Narmadā, O Sindhu, O Kāverī, please become present in this water.”

This mantra is chanted before performing ācamana. Why do we call out to Gaṅgā and Yamunā, “Please come here.” Sannidhim kuru. Is it to bathe like buffaloes? Is it to swim and jump around in their waters? No. Offer obeisance like Puṇḍarīka Vidyānidhi. Go and bathe there respectfully. When that Brahma-drava touches your physical body you will be purified, and the body will be helpful for God’s service. You will become qualified and get strong spiritual power. This verse says mānasī-sevā. But this is not for God at first. Pray, “How can I go near the Vaiṣṇavas and serve them? How can I meet with them, and they will advise me how to follow bhakti.” But not for your enjoyment. Not that you will go and have them massage your feet, or will take them to a secret place, to talk, joke, kiss and embrace. Don’t think of your body business, nor your mind business, nor even your soul business. Only think, “How can I attain the service of the Supreme Soul?” Pray to them for this. Then very easily, anurāga will come from the Vaiṣṇavas. This is our line, by following this, you will be online. You will not be a visitor or tourist of this world. Be a visitor to that spiritual world. Daily, in the mind, go to Girirāja Govardhana, go to Vṛndāvana, Nandagrāma, Varsānā, and all the holy dhāma, and there, clean and serve, offer your obeisances. This is vrajam-anucaritaṅ tasya naumi. This is our rules, principles and first etiquette. This is the essence of the third verse for sādhakas.

Purport of fourth verse:

Night is finished, it is early morning, niśānta-līlā. In the early morning, Kṛṣṇa goes to the cowshed. There, He milks the beautiful cows and gives them sweet grass and food. After this, all arrangement is made for Kṛṣṇa to go to the forest cow grazing with the sakhās. These pastimes protect us. If this līlā-śakti comes in our hearts, then in a serial, we will have revelation of Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes one after the other.
